Laure GOUIN-BRAQUEHAIS (1829-1916), attributed to. The Two Friends, before 1855. Stereoscopic daguerreotype finely enhanced in color, produced on a 2/6 quadrangular plate with hammered corners, no punch, cut in half, 8.5 x 17.2 cm. Colorized by Laure Braquehais, reassembled under the original glass, according to Serge Nazarieff. Image made at her husband's home, rue de Richelieu. The model on the left is Joséphine Eutrèpe Lécurieux. Arrested for the first time in 1860, she was sentenced to 2 weeks in Saint-Lazare prison. She was sentenced again in April 1861 for theft, then registered as a prostitute. Provenance: Serge Nazarieff Collection, Geneva.
