Robert LESBOUNIT (1904-1984). Study of a female nude, circa 1920. Red chalk drawing, 21 x 26.8 cm. Signed in pencil lower right. Mounted on heavy paper, 32.2 x 36.8 cm. Provenance: Odette Charpentier collection, neighbor and friend of the artist, living in "Montmartre aux artistes". "Europe's largest artists' city" - abbreviated MAA -, was built in 1933, on land freed by the destruction of the Montmartre maquis. It housed up to 180 artists and their families. This work of art has never left this singular place, a crossroads of great fraternity and numerous exchanges.
