From 1936 to 1940, French lodges organized a number of outfits, white dresses, conferences and artistic and musical evenings to publicize the situation in Spain and raise funds. On March 19, the man of letters Jean Cassou, at the Jean Jaurès Lodge (GLDF), spoke about the martyrdom of Spain in the presence of Dumesnil de Gramont, José Ballester Gozalvo, Grand Secretary of the GLE and former GOE Grand Master Ceferino Gonzales.
