Louis STETTNER (1922-2016). Composition aux oiseaux, 1993. Vintage silver print, 29 x 25.7 cm the image, 38.5 x 30.2 cm the sheet. Cold-stamped on the front. Signed and inscribed "3/9, Nuit le Dore [?], St-Ouen, avril 93", in pencil on verso. Born in Brooklyn to an Austrian Ashkenazi Jewish family, Stettner frequented socially committed photographers such as Lisette Model, Berenice Abbott and Weegee. He settled in Paris after the Second World War, where he made friends with Brassaï and Boubat. ATTENTION Lots bis and ter are sold at the end of the sale.
