Russian icon, 19th c.
Tempera on panel, covered with an engraved and
metal oklad.
The Virgin of Intercession stands to the left of
Christ Pantokrator in the triple motif of the Deisis.
The icon is in good structural condition, with some wear
and missing polychromy.
An unusual detail: the oklad cartouche is engraved with the name
the name of Saint Catherine Martyr, contradicting the
and its phylactery (?)
