Paper watermarked "Delagarde RF" then "Marais L E" for Félix Delagarde, owner of the Marais paper mill.
According to the departmental archives of Seine et Marne, report by Katia Vernus, 2021: "The Marais paper mill is located in Seine-et-Marne, in the Grand-Morin valley between Pontmoulin and La Chair-aux-Gens. On June 28, 1782, the widow Delagarde, owner of the Courtalin paper mill in Faremoutiers, bought the paper mill at Le Marais, near Jouy-sur-Morin. (...) On September 21, 1792, the widow Delagarde and her sons signed a treaty with Camus, archivist to the Republic, for the supply of reams of paper for the production of assignats. (...) In 1828, Félix Delagarde, owner of the Marais paper mill, bought the Sainte Marie paper mill in Boissy-le-Châtel, thus creating one of the first French limited companies, "Les papeteries du Marais et de Sainte-Marie". (...) "In 1857, Le Moulin produced only bank papers, until it became part of the Arjomari group, of which Arches is a member.
