Loïc DUBIGEON (1934-2001). Drawing to illustrate Manuel de c - Lot 76
Loïc DUBIGEON (1934-2001). Drawing to illustrate Manuel de civilité à l'usage des grandes filles after Pierre Louÿs, 1997. Graphite, 30 x 40 cm. Signed and dated lower right in the work. Born into a famous family of shipowners from Nantes, Loïc Dubigeon was destined for a career as an architect. But he was drawn to the world of art, and became famous for his palette, the scarves he designed for Hermès, and his erotic illustrations. Bibliography: Loïc Dubigeon, Manuel de civilité à l'usage des grandes filles d'après Pierre Louÿs, éditions Astarté, 1997. Reproduced on page 59, illustrating the moralizing quatrain: "If anyone asks you what your sister is doing in her room, don't answer that she's jerking off, even if you're sure of what you're saying".
