Ateliers Robert PICHON. Childhood, circa 1950. 6 gouache drawings, between 7 x 9.5 cm and 19 x 29 cm. Robert Pichon was head of the "Ateliers de dessin et lithographie R. Pichon" in Paris. Among his works are a variety of themes characteristic of the Art Deco period, with motifs inspired by Fauvist colors, and subjects ranging from the figurative (flora, fauna and classical mythology) to abstract geometric motifs. The studio specialized in advertising graphics, and R. Pichon, active in the 1910s-1940s, worked for the Lorilleux printing house, for which he produced numerous models in the 1920s-1930s. Pichon also worked frequently for Caractère magazine, mainly for special Christmas issues.
