Order of the Holy Spirit, knight's jewel in vermeil
and enamel, the dove in chased silver, set on a
green and gold, boar's head hallmark.
Ribbon adorned with a barrette holding a silver
a silver bélière. Mounted on a blue scarf.
France, 20th century.
VERY GOOD CONDITION. Minimal wear to vermeil and fabric.
This jewel and its ribbon can be compared with the insignia of the Order of the Holy Spirit worn by Philippe duc d'Orléans (1869-1929), known as Philippe VIII, great-grandson of Louis-Philippe and the only Orleanist pretender to have conferred the Order of the Holy Spirit. It can be compared to lot 138 of the sale "Une Collection Pour L'Histoire Importants Tableaux, Dessins, Meubles Et Souvenirs Historiques Appartenant à La Famille de France" held on September 29 and 30, 2015.
Provenance: acquired by Monsieur L., and exhibited in a
Musée bourguignon until today.
