PRE-CINEMA. Emile REYNAUD (1844-1918). Le Praxinoscope théâtre, 1876. Optical toy, 26 x 24 x 11cm. Silver medal at the 1879 Universal Exhibition, bronze medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition. Defects (broken box, missing lampshade). Joint: 9 color strips on black background depicting characters and a modern strip based on vignettes by BARBE and 5 images of scenery, one of which glued to a piece of metal.
