Pietro ARÉTINO, called the Aretin - TAVY NOTTON. Sonnets luxurieux, with accompanying burin engravings after the description of the engravings of Giulio Pippi de Giannuzzi, known as Julius Romano. At the expense of some amateurs, 1948. In-8 sheet (28 x 16) of 39 pages, long-grained red morocco, gilt inner border, smooth spine decorated, gilt fillets on the boards, gilt head, natural edges (period binding). Illustrated in the text with 16 beautiful burin engravings by Tavy Notton. French and Italian text opposite. Limited edition of 16 copies on Japon impérial with a suite in black and a suite in bistre, a sketch and a copperplate and 234 copies on vellum of which 50 with a suite on Japon and a refused plate. Enriched with 3 manuscript pages inset (ad VII to XIII [sic for XII]) and a suite "Forberg" of 21 cameos with title: "Figurarum veneris, tabulae XXI illustrantes Fr. C. Forbergii". Dutel 2421.
