JIM. Claudine or the Education of Vicious... - Lot 117 - Marie-Saint Germain
JIM. Claudine or the Education of Vicious Girls, circa 1950. 6 original watercolor drawings, various sizes. Jim was a mysterious artist of comics and illustrations devoted to fetishism and bondage. Like John Willie, Eric Stanton, Adolfo Ruiz and Eneg, Jim illustrated many mail order books through Irving Klaw's Nutrix company in the 1950s. Jim specialized in drawing wasp-waisted women in latex. Even for Kla, his true identity has always remained a mystery. One collector was able to prove that he was from Geneva, that he worked as a technical draftsman for a design firm, and that he worked under the pseudonym Gil. A number of his original drawings appeared a few years ago at the Galerie HumuS in Lausanne, which was then run by the late Michel Froidevaux (1951-2020).
