Mark SEVERIN (1906-1987). Mounts of Venus, 1978. Small in-8, oblong, of 16 leaves, red morocco à la Bradel, spine gilt, titled on top. 16 copper engravings, 12,5 x 15 cm, composed of 5 to 6 "female ethnic personalities", 77 in all. Limited edition of 12 series, all titled and signed in pencil by the artist. Mark Severin was a professor of engraving at the NHIS-KA and later at the Plantin Institute in Antwerp. He specialised in miniatures, postage stamps and book illustrations. He made almost 500 bookplates and was active in advertising. Enclosed a letter describing the realization and the acquisition of this copy.
