Volume in-12, 13 x 8.8 cm, 162 pages, long-grained green morocco, double cold binding around the covers, smooth spine, gilt edges (fine period binding). Illustrated with 6 engravings, one in frontispiece. Copy on strong paper. Cohen 758, Dutel A-760. Very numerous origins: 2 Charles Cousin ex-libris (one with a red bull on a gold background, and the other bearing his motto "C'est ma toquade" accompanied by La Fontaine's famous epitaph "Jean s'en partir comme il était venu" and the number "JFT", sale in Paris, April 7-11, 1891); Arpad Plesch (Sotheby's, La Leonina page 64, which sees an ex-libris by Fréderick Hankey); Henry Cousin, famous American bibliophile (source T. F.), ex-libris with a Japanese red seal.
