The Dogon people live in the region known as Pays Dogon, which stretches from the Bandiagara cliff to the southwestern loop of the Niger. The Fresson process is a photographic printing technique developed in 1952 by Pierre Fresson and his son Michel Fresson, for the production of color photographic prints. It is based on the monochrome "carbon-satin" process invented in 1899 by their grandfather Théodore-Henri Fresson.
