Blaise PATRIX (1953-2023). Abstract composition, 1981. Gouache on canvas, 50 x 72.5cm. Signed and dated lower right. Joint: 2 watercolor drawings, various sizes. One by Michel PATRIX (1917-1973) and the other by Blaise PATRIX. Provenance: Odette Charpentier collection, neighbor and friend of the artists, living in "Montmartre aux artistes". "La plus grande cité d'artiste d'Europe" - abbreviated to MAA - was built in 1933, on land freed up by the destruction of the Montmartre maquis. It housed up to 180 artists and their families. These works have never left this singular place, a crossroads of great fraternity and many exchanges.(3 rooms)
