Weight: 6gr and size: 67 The term seditious designates both something secret and rebellious, equivocal. Two categories have been particularly conducive to seditious creation, graphic works and small objects. These works, objects of political affirmation, are part of the troubled period of the end of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century. When the Emperor fell, his supporters were forced to accept the new regime, imposed by the enemy monarchies, or to flee. Some, reluctantly, remained in France while retaining their fervour for Napoleon. This was the case of General Henri Gatien Bertrand, one of the first loyalists, who accompanied the Emperor during his exile and was among the diehard Bonapartists during the Restoration. Welcoming the new Prince President as a saviour, he was one of the main protagonists of the Return of the Ashes of Saint Helena, taking part in the ceremony with the highly symbolic gesture of putting the Emperor's sword back into his tomb.
